Becky Simpson,Studio Director, is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a B.S. degree in Dance. Miss
Becky's emphasis on proper technique along with her motto, “It's all in the face”, has driven her competitive students
to earn numerous top awards including overall regional and national awards, solo title winners, and top studio. Her
students have been recognized by dance industry leaders and awarded scholarships to further their dance education.
Many of her students have continued their dance education at universities and others have begun successful careers
in the professional dance world. Becky is also an active, certified member of Dance Masters of Michigan and Dance
Masters of America, with whom she is able to continue her dance education with many well-known professionals in the
industry. She has also been awarded numerous choreography awards on both the regional and national levels. In
addition to her teaching and choreography experience, Becky is on the judges panel for several well known regional
and national competitions, including VIP Dance, Hall of Fame Dance Challenge and Dance USA, where she shares
her knowledge and love for dance with students across the country.
Alexis Hudy is a veteran competitive student of Pointe Counterpointe Dance Center. She has been dancing for 16
years, training in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, and hip hop. Her most recent choreography has
been recognized as the top routine at several competitions, and she has also been awarded best choreography at
the national level. She has appeared in 2 commercials, modeled for Leo's Dancewear, and was a dancer for the KIA
Cadenza reveal at the Auto Show 2013. Alexis has recently discovered her talents in Make-up Artistry, and hopes to
continue her art in L.A.
Karen Eck has been dancing since the age of 4 beginning at St. Mary’s School of Dance in Detroit, and later
becoming a member of the Mid-West Ballet Theatre Company. She is a long standing member of Dance Masters of
America and Dance Masters of Michigan, and has been living the dream of teaching for the past 20 years! Miss
Karen has served on the Board of Directors and is now the Secretary of the Michigan Chapter. Passing all of the
traditional core exams (ballet, tap, jazz), she is a Post Graduate of Teachers Training School at State University of
New York at Buffalo and is continually bringing up-to-date dance training to her classes. She creatively includes
terminology , history and kinesiology. Karen specializes in teaching children and is known for her creative
choreography. She has also developed a successful dance program for young children.
Megan Stuart began dancing at a young age and has trained in modern, jazz, hip hop, ballet, tap, contemporary,
lyrical, and acrobatics (which she has always held a special love for). She recently received her B.F.A. in dance
from Marygrove College where she graduated with honors and is now a founding member of ConteXture Dance
Detroit. Throughout her career Megan has had the honor to work with many incredible instructors and
choreographers including Kevin Iega-Jeff, Kiki Lucas, Meredith Dincolo, Brian Hare, and Jordeen Ivanov-Ericson.
She has choreographed for the Marygrove College Dance Company, Arts Academy in the Woods Dance Company,
as well as for several renowned studios in the metro Detroit area.
Detroit Native, Tracy Halloran Pearson, is a 2014 Kresge Artist Fellow in dance and music. She received her B.
F.A. in Dance Performance from Marygrove College and her M.F.A. in Choreography from the University of
Michigan. She has worked as a performer, professor, choreographer and rehearsal director in the dance world.
She has produced and choreographed her own performances to sold out audiences and she is the founder and
Artistic Director of the contemporary dance company ConteXture Dance Detroit. Tracy is a sought after
choreographer nationally and in the Detroit metro area. Besides creating works for her own company she has
choreographed for the Marygrove College Dance Company, the University of Michigan’s Department of Dance,
The Academy Dance Alliance, Noretta Dunworth School of Dance, Dance Masters of Michigan and many more.
She is an accomplished teacher in ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, acrobatics and stretch and strengthening
techniques. Once a competition dancer herself, Tracy was DMM's Miss Dance of Michigan in 1997. Tracy’s
dancers and dances have won overalls nationally and regionally at VIP, West Coast Dance Explosion, Adrenaline,
JUMP, Hall of Fame, NUVO, 24Seven, Applause and many more. Her students are currently performing with Zurich
Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Charlotte Ballet, Illinois Ballet Theater, Royal Caribbean and Disney World’s Beauty and
